I honestly liked most things about our cabin. It was clean, has a kitchen and bathroom. The cabin has enough room for six. The location is great. The lake is steps away and all the shops and food are right there. There is a grill in the yard to use which we did. It cooked our huckleberry chicken to perfection. The kitchen also has just about everything you need. We also rented a boat right there at the lake which I would recommend. Only issue I had is the bathroom is really small especially the shower. I hit my head on the shower or the curtain bar every single time and I tried to be careful. It’s not great for anyone over 5’5. The pressure is also super weak. A shower head from the year 2025 will solve that problem though. As for the shower head not as easy of a fix. Hopefully someone doesn’t knock their self out because I almost did. Other that that it’s an amazing place to stay while visiting West Glacier.

Apgar Village Lodge & Cabins is all about the location! The rooms are very small and pretty basic, but they’re clean and comfortable enough for a stay. It feels like a step above camping, but you can’t beat being right along the breathtaking shores of Lake McDonald. If you’re looking for simple accommodations with an unbeatable setting in Glacier, this is it.

The Location is the WINNER here. The beauty and hometown feeling is also here, excellent for kayaking, or boarders, decent parking. There is food but expensive. Your paying for the access and its seasonal so be aware of this. They have apparel and equipment for those who forgot, lost or broke something.

Dreamy spot that our Florida family loved a few years back! It felt like we took a step back in time - to before all the tech and digitalization of our world. How lovely! We booked when many rooms had filled up so we took what we could get: our first night staying in The Village Inn, a lodge with all rooms facing south end of Lake McDonald. Then the next 3 or 4 nights we were able to secure a private cabin - our first choice so we could spread out some more and have a kitchen! Honestly, BOTH lodging options were wonderful - the views at the Inn were breathtaking, and we loved the convenience to the water for when the kids wanted to swim. However, the cabins were so close too (50 yards away) and even closer to the eateries and shops. We recommend the cabins for families or those who like to cook! We hope to go back one day!

We stayed at an Apgar Village cabin in mid-September 2025. The location right on Lake McDonald is truly unbeatable — beautiful views and convenient access to the park. The cabin itself was clean, but definitely showing its age and in need of some updates. If you’re deciding between the two, I’d recommend booking a room in the lodge rather than the cabins for a more comfortable experience.

Rated the room a little lower because it was not cleaned very well and few amenities, but did love our cabin old style feel. The area has a classic camp like feel with gift shops, a restaurant, ice cream place and boat rental. Located on Lake McDonald we loved staying here. We did white water rafting which was nice but very tame with low water levels this time of year. Took a motorboat out on the lake and saw Bald and Golden Eagles. Our favorite hike was Trail of the Cedars and walking to Avalanche lake, about 5 miles through a beautiful forested landscape. There are bear in the area but we missed them at the lake being about an hour late

This place provides cute little cabins for stay. I was overall happy with my stay here but the only complaint I have is these cabins don’t have ac and when the temperature hits high 90s , like in July when I was there it was 96 , the fan which is provided in the cabin doesn’t do the trick and makes your stay a bit uncomfortable. I understand global warming and when these cabins were built the weather was different but they should think about ac now in there. The front desk was very helpful. I have had absolutely no other issues for the time I spent there. Location is also great but keep in mind you would still need a timed entry to enter the “Going to Sun Road”.

Our stay at Apgar Village Lodge & Cabins was absolutely wonderful! We spent two nights there and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the moment we arrived, the service was top-notch—friendly, welcoming, and attentive. Our room was incredibly cozy and quaint, with everything we needed to feel right at home. Staying within Glacier National Park made the whole trip feel even more special, and we loved being surrounded by the stunning natural beauty of the area. The stores and restaurants in the village provided great amenities, and everything was just so convenient and comfortable. It was the perfect base for exploring the park, and we couldn't have asked for a better place to relax after a day of adventure. We highly recommend Apgar Village Lodge & Cabins for anyone visiting the park. We’ll definitely be back!
